True Zero Order Bare Mica Waveplates

True Zero Order Bare Mica Waveplates

Uncemented bare mica waveplates are recommended for higher power applications, especially laser applications. In contrast to our broadband and laser lines waveplates, they can withstand extremely high power and energy densities because they contain no optical cement. These waveplates are available as standard components for a wide range of laser wavelengths commonly used in the industry with a standard diameter of 20 mm, uncoated or with antireflective coating, and as special components for more diameters and at any specified wavelength from 350 to 1550 nm.

These waveplates are fragile components which are not recommended for general laboratory use.

  • λ/4, λ/2, λ/8 and other retardation values

  • Standard size 20.0 mm diameter

  • Diameters 10.0, 25.0, 25.4 mm and custom sizes and shapes from 5 to 200 mm on request

  • Coatings for enhanced transmission available upon request

  • Ring mounting options available upon request

S & R Optics’ unique cleaving process, with highest grade muscovite mica, allows best transmission, purity, homogeneity and highest surface quality specifications offered in the whole industry.

Compared to all other waveplates, our true zero order mica waveplates exhibit only negligible dependence of retardation on angle of incidence or field of view.
